Pioneer in Proton Therapy in South China

The Proton Center at Guangzhou Concord Cancer Center houses South China's first Varian ProBeam proton radiotherapy system, marking the region's entry into the era of proton therapy for cancer treatment. The center is equipped with four 360° rotating gantry treatment rooms, utilizing advanced pencil beam scanning technology to deliver Intensity-Modulated Proton Therapy (IMPT). This technology achieves highly conformal target coverage and dose distribution, significantly reducing radiation exposure to healthy tissues and organs. The system integrates Cone-Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) for precise patient positioning, enabling Image-guided Proton Therapy (IGPT) to further enhance accuracy and safety. The Proton Center strictly adheres to MD Anderson Cancer Center radiotherapy guidelines and standard procedures, integrating NCCN Clinical Practice Guidelines and domestic CSCO guidelines to provide scientifically grounded treatment plans. Through its telemedicine collaboration network with Mayo Clinic, patients can access comprehensive diagnostic and treatment opinions from internationally renowned experts. The core team members have extensive experience working or training at top-tier international medical institutions and have contributed to the development of domestic guidelines and medical textbooks.
